Privacy policy
The short version. evinfo.uk has no accounts, no sign-in, no forms and no cookies. Everything you type into the calculator stays in your browser and is never sent to us. We use a privacy-preserving analytics tool that counts page views without identifying anyone.
Who is responsible
evinfo.uk is run by an individual in the United Kingdom and is the data controller for the limited processing described here. You can reach us at info@evinfo.uk.
What the calculator does with your inputs
The car you pick, the month, the sliders, your annual mileage, your petrol price — all of it is processed entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript on the page. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else, none of it is stored, and closing the tab discards it. There is no server-side application here; the site is a set of static files.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages people find useful. It is deliberately privacy-preserving:
- It sets no cookies and does not use localStorage.
- It does not fingerprint your device or track you between sites.
- It records aggregate measurements only — page views, referring site, country, browser and device type.
- It does not build a profile of you and cannot identify you.
Because it stores nothing on your device and does not process personal data for profiling, no cookie consent banner is required for it under PECR. Our lawful basis for the aggregate measurement is legitimate interests: understanding whether the site is useful.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and request headers in order to deliver the page and to protect against attacks and abuse. This is handled by Cloudflare as our processor under their own security and privacy terms. We do not have access to identifiable request logs and do not attempt to obtain them.
Fonts
The page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google will see your IP address as part of serving those files. Google states it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles. If you would rather avoid this, a content blocker will prevent the request and the site will fall back to your system fonts and remain fully usable.
Links to other sites
The site links to Tesla, to energy suppliers, to EV Database, to Ofgem and to other third parties. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site and their privacy policy applies, not ours. In particular, the Tesla referral link identifies the account that referred you — it does not pass Tesla any information about you from this site, because we hold none.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks, no ad cookies, no retargeting pixels.
- No social media trackers or embedded widgets.
- No mailing list, and no way for you to submit personal data to us on this site.
- We never sell or share data, because we do not hold any to sell.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection over personal data held about you. In practice we hold no personal data about visitors, so there is usually nothing for us to retrieve or delete — but if you believe we hold something about you, email info@evinfo.uk and we will look into it and respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we ever add something that does process personal data — a newsletter, a saved-comparison feature, a comments section — we will update this page and date it before that feature goes live.
